What To Expect

Son Tra Mountain

Son Tra Peninsula is located in the territory of Son Tra district, about 10km from the city center to the northeast. It covers an area of 60 km2 with the length of 13km, the width of 5 km, and the narrowest part of 2 km. With an elevation of 693m above sea level, standing on top of Son Tra, tourists comfortably enjoy fresh cool breezes from the sea, along with the vast space of luxuriant greenery- making it a popular retreat among locals and travelers looking to escape the heat and busy traffic of the city. Monkey Mountain was a prominent observation base during the American-Vietnam War, housing two radar domes that are now taken over by the Vietnamese military as well as a helicopter pad, which makes for a cool lookout point.
